ASPIRE Graduate Profile
Over the last three years, we have been developing a Graduate Profile, based on our school ASPIRE values. Each term, our tamariki reflect on their progress, and evaluate themselves using the descriptors:
With some help I can...
Sometimes by myself I can...
Mostly by myself I can...
Always by myself I can...
Our Graduate Profile is aspirational - it describes the traits we activly support our tamariki to develop over their years at St Leonards. The categories are always a work in progress as we continue to evaluate their usefulness with staff, tamariki and their whānau.
Active Learner
Active Learners take responsibility for their learning. They develop metacognitive skills that will support their learning, both now and into their futures.
Our Active Learner categories are: Metacognition (thinking), Self Motivation and Growth Mindset.

Self Manager
Self Managers manage things within their control. By regulating themselves, they are able to respect others and be ready for learning.
Our Self Manager categories are: Body Regulation, Social and Emotional Regulation, Aim High and Autonomy.

Problem Solver is our tool kit. We can select Problem Solving tools to support us when we are being Active Learners, Self Managers and Environmentally Friendly.
